Nautical
Stripes have always been around, signifying timeless style. Inspired by French
sailors, the blue and white thinly stripes have become one of fashion’s biggest
trend season after season. Ever since
Coco Chanel sported the timeless pattern on a boatneck shirt, it has become a
popular style choice for fashion-forward women all around the world. Legend has
it; Chanel borrowed one from her lover and tailored it to her body – creating
an iconic look that is still just as popular today.
The
Nautical Stripes signify timeless style. It’s been worn by countless style
icons, from Brigitte Bardot to Twiggy, Pablo Picasso to Lauren Hutton, James
Dean to Marilyn Monroe. It is classic, chic, effortlessly laid back and
cool style and depending on your signature style, you can wear it sporty, glam,
casual and even chic minimalism (the latter is my fave).
Nautical
stripes are one of the most minimalist of patterns, and look great combined
with classic pieces like blazers and high-waisted trousers. Nautical Stripes in
accessories like scarfs, jewelry, shoes and sunglasses is great way to wear
this timeless trend (just be careful not to go overboard with it). Think outside the style box by taking the pattern to a
whole new level of form and function.
